The funeral will take place on Thursday 23rd June 2016.
Important: Please let us know if you would like to come [contact page] . We have a large number of people attending and are strictly keeping this for people who have known Naseeb fairly well at some point in his life.
We request NO FLOWERS are brought to the funeral, instead there will be a voluntary donation box for a charity which Naseeb cared about.
Please wear whatever you like, preferably casual and not formal.
2.30pm: Cremation service for Naseeb at Manchester Crematorium, Barlow Moor Road (almost opposite Hardcastle Avenue), Manchester M21 7GZ
4pm: Social gathering of tributes, memories and celebration of Naseeb’s life with contributions from his friends and family. With food, bar, music, poetry, speeches. At the Longford Suite, Longford Park Stadium, Ryebank Road, Manchester M21 9TA
Google map links can be found to the right of this page (if you are on a PC) or at the bottom (if you are on a mobile) – click on the address in blue text.
CAR PARKING:
At the Crematorium, there are very few parking spaces within their grounds so please park on nearby roads. It is possible to park along Barlow Moor Road where there is a SINGLE yellow line (on the same side of the road as the Crematorium, NOT the other side). Cars can park here until 3.30pm.
At Longford Park there is a car park with enough spaces. Make sure you arrive via the Ryebank Road entrance to the park.
If anyone would like to see Naseeb’s body before the funeral we have arranged for him to be in the chapel of rest for visitors on Weds 22nd June from 3.30pm to 4.30pm at Co-op Funeralcare, Manchester Road (near corner of Nicolas Road), Chorlton-cum-Hardy, Manchester M21 9PN. Visiting outside these hours is possible by special arrangement, please call 0161 881 2212. For family and close friends who are travelling some distance, Naseeb’s body will be resting in our home from 11am onwards on the day of the funeral.
If you need to contact us please use the contact form – CLICK HERE. We will receive an email and will reply as soon as we are able to.
Instead of flowers for the funeral, we would prefer that a donation is made to a charity. Donations, if desired, can be made in Naseeb’s memory to
ASHA – Asylum Support Housing Advice
A charity supporting people needing refuge in the UK
Naseeb briefly volunteered at ASHA in Hulme, Manchester, and continued to sympathise with people forced to migrate.
The word ‘ASHA’ is from the Urdu language, and means HOPE. In Swahili the word ‘ASHA’ means LIFE. ASHA respects all lives and promotes compassion and understanding to those fleeing persecution and violence. The charity’s central aims are to provide support, advocacy and advice for asylum seekers whose applications have been refused and fully determined, and whose status renders them homeless and destitute.

Currently there is no method of online donation to ASHA, but a cheque can be posted to them, made payable to G.M.I.A.U. but please write “For ASHA. Ref Naseeb Chuhan” on the back. GMIAU stands for Greater Manchester Immigration Aid Unit which is now the organisation that manages ASHA. Post the cheque to:
