This poem was read out by Billie and Erin when the tree was planted in memory of Naseeb at Longford Park last year. It’s taken a while for this to be posted, thanks to Meghann for getting the words to us. It’s nice to have it now as a revisit to that day a year ago.
The Poem:
We thought of you with love today,
But that is nothing new.
We thought about you yesterday
And days before that, too.
We think of you in silence.
We often speak your name.
Now all we have is memories
And your picture in a frame.
Your memory is our keepsake
With which we’ll never part.
The sky has you in its keeping
We have you in our heart.
The tree has grown well since then. Last autumn we planted some bulbs which have flowered recently. The tree has also been full of beautiful blossom recently. Here are some photos taken on 25th March, to see them in a full screen carousel slideshow just click on any photo:
And then on 6th April less than two weeks later the tree transformed and looked like in the photos below. The crystalline pendant was made and hung there by Naseeb’s friend Ev when she returned from her travels last year. It’s still there and catches the light and blossom really well:
With love to all our and Naseeb’s friends, keeping his memory going in whatever way we manage.
